Our Mission:
The World Classroom is driven to effectively educate and directly impact under-privileged, inner-city High School students by providing travel and guidance to places around the world providing leadership skills, cultural awareness and the confidence to believe that they can achieve far greater than they ever thought possible.
The World Classroom: Boldly Going Where No Textbook Has Gone Before!
Breaking the Mould: Helping Students Grow
Part of our focus around each of the projects is to center in on gaining unexpected experiences that the students never imagined they'd be doing. Things that have been made possible because of private donations:
- Integrating minority kids in a all white Amish Community
- African-American kids teaching Asian kids a new technology developed in the United States
- Using snowmobiles and horseback to cover the Lewis and Clark Trail- giving real meaning to history
- Student's flying around in float planes and helicopters in southeastern Alaska to watch whales and seals, complete glacial research and learn how to camp in the wilderness
